CARDS WITH GOD

    When I played cards with God
He couldn't not know my hand
I said, "How can I possibly win?"
    He just grinned
and gestured for me to begin

In the end, it didn't matter what he knew
He'd shuffled the hands
before the universe began
so that I would win

I didn't beat him, though. I defeated myself
I triumphed over misunderstanding
      about who
                         he
                               is
