I see the normal people everywhere
walking around, so glad to be alive
they go through life without a single care
they've never had to fight just to survive
They give their hearts, unhindered by their fears
the courage that must take is far above
what I could muster in a million years
imagine being brave enough to love
But then there's me, with zero normalcy
a bag of trauma with no rest or pause
the dream of normal life can never be
until I deal with my ten million flaws
Perhaps I'll heal my broken soul someday
until then, I'm a wreck, and that's okay
The complete poetic works of Kevin Ranville. The theme is lights in the dark. Interpret it how you will. Like me, this collection is a work in progress. All poems are copyrighted to Kevin Ranville. Please state as much if you pass the work along to a friend. Thanks.
