SONNET XXXIX - LOST TREASURE

i found a piece of heaven in the dark
a dream i hope will help me make it through
in blackest night I saw a shining spark
such heaven in the pain of losing you
I took for granted all that lovely bliss
assuming you'd be here eternally
and now I miss one thing in this abyss
that little gift is everything to me
there's nothing good about a heart destroyed
except for this one thought I now hold dear
a precious treasure lost I once enjoyed
has made my heart's desire crystal clear
   the sweetest thing about a love gone cold
   it's made a simple kiss worth more than gold
